Alton

Alton Saturday rides – Rides start from Alton Community Centre (CC) unless otherwise stated.  There is a moderate paced ride each week (M), averaging about 10-12 mph. On the first Saturday of each month we have both a faster-paced ride (F) which averages around 13-14mph and a slower-paced ride which averages no more than 10-11mph.  Hopefully these options will accommodate the varying cycling speeds of the riders who come out.  Both rides will be led and will leave at the same time from Alton Community Centre, so at the start you can decide which ride to go on.  When the main ride starts from somewhere other than Alton or Medstead there will be an alternative ride listed in the line below, starting from Alton Community Centre.  There may not be a designated leader for this so please be prepared to find your own route to the destination.

The rides’ coordinator is Janice Montgomerie, email Janice or ring 01420 80783 for more information.  Updates, photos and other cycling-related items can be seen on the  Cycling UK Alton Facebook page.

Alton Thursday Rides – a ride leaves Alton Community Centre every Thursday morning at 9.30am to a cafe somewhere for coffee and cake.  Please email Janice if you wish to be added to the circulation list.

Alton Friday Rides – These are run monthly, usually on the third Friday morning of the month.  We cover around 15 miles at a gentle pace, and the ride always includes a coffee stop.  You are welcome to just turn up at the start.  Please email Janice if you wish to be added to the circulation list.

Alton Sunday rides – These are organised by Alton Cycling Club under the auspices of British Cycling.  The rides leave from The Butts at 9am every Sunday. Ride details are listed on the Alton Cycling Club website, and there is also a Facebook page.  Please check the Alton CC website in case of late changes to the ride list.

Changes have already been made to the runs list below! Please note that all changes made to the rides list will show in the table below and this should be taken as being the most up to date.
