Phil Hampton Memorial Ride

Last year’s 50-milers

Our annual Phil Hampton Memorial Ride will be on Saturday 21st March, held this year for the eighteenth time.  This ride is organised every year in memory of Phil, a cyclist from West Surrey, who was killed by a lorry while cycling on the A3 in 2002.  Our aim is to raise funds for The Cyclists’ Defence Fund, a charity set up to fight legal cases involving cyclists but which now covers all aspects of cycling and the law.

The routes are the same as last year, and as usual there is a choice of either 50 or 30 miles starting at either 9.30am or 10am respectively, allowing more time for the longer route to be completed.  Medstead Village Hall will be open until 4pm.

We ask for a minimum donation of £5 to enter, preferably by Paypal to ctc_nh@yahoo.co.uk (note the underscore between ctc & nh), but also a cheque payable to Dan Montgomerie or cash is acceptable. If paying by Paypal, please choose “sending to a friend or family” so no fees are charged.

Please see the links below to the entry form, a parental consent form which must be signed for under-18s, printable route sheets, maps and gpx/tcx files.

As always we encourage entries in advance in order to better gauge numbers for catering, but it is also OK to enter on the day.

As usual there will be free tea and coffee before the event, and sandwiches and cakes available for a small sum afterwards.  Pubs and cafes can be found on both routes.

We look forward to seeing you on the day!
