NEW FOREST CYCLING WEEK Friday 26 July to Saturday 3 August 2019

Bookings are now open for the 45th New Forest Cycling Week, the first one having taken place in 1975.

By going to the web site this will show you the link into the special page of the Avon Tyrrell web site for you to make your bookings. For people who have not been to the rally before the website will also give you background information and many photos.

You can book for any number of nights, from one to the whole week (8 nights), and caravans, campervans and tents are welcome.

Telephone booking direct is possible with Avon Tyrrell Telephone:- 01425 672347 (advise you are booking for the rally).

Electric Hook Ups. Please telephone Avon Tyrrell direct to reserve a hook up.

Whether you are a family with children, with a group of friends or a single person, I am sure you will find the rally very sociable with everybody quickly making new friends, all having a common interest in cycling.

Our rally takes place during the first week of the school holidays and is a prime time for all campsites in the New Forest, and all campsites for this time last year were fully booked 2 months in advance. It is therefore a great privilege to have exclusive use of the Avon Tyrrell rally field and to receive a substantial discount off camping fees from their normal high season prices. Unlike other Cycling UK and tandem rallies there is no registration fee per person.

This year’s activities will follow the same pattern as previous years:-

Every day there are a number of led rides to various local places suitable for all abilities from 10 to 40-50 miles, or you are free to make your own arrangements. Rides usually include some tracks but not always.

Barn Dance on the Sunday evening with a free wine and cheese at the interval;

Monday night AGM with wine and cheese afterwards;

Tuesday Fun time trial around camp site for youngsters and teenagers;

Wednesday Activities for children with qualified Avon Tyrrell Instructors. See booking forms for details of what’s on offer;

Thursday Isle of Wight groups get together to travel;

Friday evening bicycle limbo contest for children and teenagers, followed by barbecue for all.

It is a relaxing and friendly week, ideal for parents or grandparents with children or without, and has been attended by members of Cycling UK North Hampshire over very many years.

Come and give it a try this this year.
