Isle of Wight Night Ride 29th June

Entry to our night ride around The Isle of Wight on Friday 29th June is now open, 65 miles clockwise around the rolling lanes of the “South Island”. We are asking for an early indication of numbers so we can plan accordingly.

Entry is open to Alton CC, Cycling UK and Fleet Cycling members and guests, so step out of your comfort zone.

Entry is free but you will need to pay your ferry costs to and from the Isle of Wight as well as mid and post ride refreshments.

Many of you will have ridden the Island in daylight but at night it takes on a whole new appearance and if we are lucky with clear skies the night sky will be spectacular.

We will meet at East Cowes,  (there is a Red Funnel ferry that leaves Southampton at 10-30pm and gets to East Cowes at 11-30pm )  and after a briefing we will start our ride at mid-night. The ride will be led and using The Friday’s very successful model there will be two TECs (tail end Charlies) to help with any problems, mechanicals and punctures.

No one gets left behind, this is not a race.

There will be a mid ride stop at about the half way point, somewhere on the South of the Island for  coffee and cake and to hopefully enjoy the night sky and sound of the sea, and at the end of the ride, breakfast in West Cowes prior to getting a ferry back to the mainland.

Please complete the entry form:

You will be added to the e-mailing list for the ride and receive further details and information about the requirements for night rides as well as updates as the date of the ride approaches.
